Re: Superfast Fibre 2 Unlimited installation problems

It should really be quiet.

Can you please unclip the front cover, and plug a microfilter into the test socket and plug the home hub into that. See if it now connects.

If you have any other extensions, you should see them connected to the terminal block on the left.

Okay, I've done that and the hub still flashes pinky-purple.

Is that the only phone socket you have?

What connection speed did BT say you should get?

Yes it's the only phone socket, i think the speed was up to 70 with a 60something average.

It could be two things.

A faulty home hub. Which home hub do you have?

A commisioning error.

Have BT offered to send another home hub?

It's a BT Smart hub, they haven't offered another one. What is a commissioning error?

Its possibly a faulty hub, as that does seem to happen from time to time.

A commissioning error means that the broadband has not be provided correctly. This should not happen in theory.

Assuming you have everything connected up correctly.

BT Hub set up

BT Hub set up

Then I would as BT to send a replacement home hub, as that would be the quickest way to prove it, unless you have another suitable home hub you can try?

Its not possible to tell, as it could be a faulty home hub, that is the first thing to try. If that does not help, then BT would arrange a visit, to check the connections.

I assume everything is connected up as shown on those pictures?

Yes it's all connected properly & I don't have another one to try.

I just got a text saying that I need to book an appointment and checked the fault tracking and the Openreach appointment for Tuesday has disappeared. So called BT and now Openreach are going to check the junction box tomorrow at some point & I don't need to be here for an appointment.
