I'm trying to get my parent's broadband and phone switched across to BT from an ancient Demon/Vodafone account. When I go to select a new package I get the error:
The phone number and postcode supplied do not match; please try again
They've had this number for about 30 years! How do I go about getting this fixed?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You will need to contact your parents current provider and have them request an ORDI request with Openreach. This request updates the address on Openreach systems to match Royal Mail.
This is something only the current provider is able to do to update the records to match Royal Mail.
Once this request has been completed the order to transfer will go through without the error messages you have received.
