This rather bizarre behaviour seems to be a continuing "feature".  Again this morning (and recent mornings as well) the new data reading was up shortly after 0900, but still showing the date as 2359 on 11th but now, a couple of hours later, it is correctly giving 2359 on 12th.

 

Very strange.  Smiley Surprised

Not only is my Usage Monitor still out of date this moth but I am seriously concerned at excessive use comparred to my independent ShaPlus meter.  BT claim 6.07GB while ShaPlus quote 1.581GB.  In the last 4 months BT have overstated each month and refuse to accept any independent meter or monitor.  Thank goodness I have not been MADE to pay for their inflated usage claim AS YET but I am concerned for the future.  How many others are being overcharged?

My experience is very different. 

 

Despite some rather bizarre behaviour in displaying the usage, the one thing which has been consistently correct is the accuracy of the readings. 

 

I too have been using independent measuring since January using NetWorx on my PC and Data Master on my phone and the combined readings have, on most days, coincided with the BT monitor within +/- 10 to 20 MB (0.01 to 0.02 GB) which at worst case might give a monthly difference of about 0.6 GB.

 

So far this year, with an average monthly usage of 13.2 GB, my monthly differences have been:

 

Jan -0.05 GB

Feb -0.22 GB

Mar -0.28 GB

Apr 0.11 GB

 

Negative figures are in my favour (ie. the BT reading was lower than mine, though only marginally).

 

I would say that 1.58 GB for about half a month sounds rather low, and I wonder if it is ShaPlus which is telling you porkies rather than BT.  As of last night, my figure for May is 6.4 GB and my usage is not particularly heavy.

I would agree with A1944.  I think the indicated usage is fairly correct .... but the way it displays it is perverse.  

 

This morning my monitor is shown as 5.34Gb but it is saying that this was the usage as of 23.59 on 15-05.  However yesterday afternoon, the 16th, it was indicating usage as of 23.59 on 15-05 was 5.2Gb.  Later on today the date/time will change to 23.59 on 16th and I expect (hope) the usage will still show 5.34Gb.

The same here.  Still showing figures for 23rd @ 23:59 and it's now nearly 14:00 on 26th. So no 24th or 25th up-date.

 

My believe, for a while now, is that the monitor is run by 'batch' rather than 'automatic' processing ..... so perhaps the person who pushes the button to start the process is away on holiday!

What sort of company cannot cope when an employee goes on holiday?

 

It’s more likely a ‘flakey’ program that has been patched many times and now needs to be rewritten from scratch.
