Using 4G Hybrid Connect rather than unusably slow ADSL

My father has recently moved house and the new ADSL is pretty much unusable - broadband checker says he should get a pretty appalling upto 3 down and upto .5 up, but it's move like 1 down 200K up.  However, the 4G connection with the hybrid connect is pretty good - 10mb down and 4mb up.  So, the question is - are you allowed to just disconnect the ADSL and use the 4G instead?  If not, what's the cancellation rules early in a contract - he's only a week in so far and we could just dump the broadband and get a 4G broadband contract elsewhere.

the hybrid connect is only for use when you cannot get broadband on router.  when your father moved house did he have a home move with BT so moved broadband to new home

Thanks, yes, that's what I suspected.  Yes, he was with BT before and did a home move.  They've already told him that he can't have BT TV as he used to have because it's too slow and changed the old contract to remove that.

Thanks for the help.
