Amazon Firestick not accepting BT Wifi Subscription details

Hi

I've been given a TV and Firestick by a friend, which was set up and working fine on a BT Homehub account.

I have a BT WiFi subscription. When I go to login, the page says that the account details are incorrect.

I have reset the Firestick, and the password, with no results. BT have said there's nothing they can do as the details are correct.

Any advice anyone?

Welcome to this user forum.

I doubt very much if you can get the Amazon Firestick to connect to BT Wifi, as it requires login via a web browser or app.

You would also have a very restricted bandwidth if you are connecting to  a nearby hotspot from a home hub.

I assume you can login to that same hotspot using a laptop or phone?

Yes. All other devices remain fine. I have no problems streaming on other devices.

When I try to connect, it brings up the standard web browser page...it just states that the login details are wrong.

Its probably sending the form data in the wrong format. It also may require secure login, which the firestick may not be capable of.

Perhaps you could login using your laptop, and somehow link it to the firestick?
