BT Cloud Android Backup

Quick one for you,  I note there is no option in the cloud app to backup your android apps from a smartphone.  Is there a reason for this and is it something that BT are looking to implement in the future?  If you had this option you'd have a great android app right there.

Re: BT Cloud Android Backup

To choose what content is automatically backed up:

On an Android device

  1. Launch the BT Cloud app and select the three dot icon then Settings from the dropdown menu.
  2. Select Automatic backup and your backup options will be displayed
  3. Tick or un-tick the folders to turn the automatic backup on or off
  4. To switch automatic backup on or off for 3G, go to Connectivity Settings and tick or un-tick Wi-Fi only. We recommend using the Wi-Fi only setting, as backing up your files over 3G will eat into your mobile data allowance.

Re: BT Cloud Android Backup

David,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Unfortunately no.  The advice offered by Jonnie is not a solution as that is just the standard protocol for backups using BT Cloud on Android but there is no option to select to backup the apps or phone settings.  I can back up:

Contacts

Photos

Videos

Music

Documents

Messages

Call Logs

But NOT app and phone data which means that if using BT Cloud to backup the phone you can restore the above mentioned data but you could not restore your phone and apps.  For that you'd have to use Google Drive or storage offered by your phone manafucture. If looking to solely use BT Cloud to backup your Android device these vital options aren't there.

Re: BT Cloud Android Backup

Hi @budest  and thanks for getting back.

I'm sorry @Jonnie476 post didn't answer the query. I've asked the question and at present this isn't something that's offer but may be part of a future roll out (though I don't have anything concrete on that).

Cheers
