Hi All,
I have a BT business Hub Broadband service with a dynamic public IP address assigned. As a result, users who need to VPN into the internal network use the DDNS name assigned which should resolve to the current public IP address. However, for a couple of BT broadband users, they are unable to use the VPN service because the DDNS name is not resolving to the right public IP address but works for the non-BT users who use the service. Any idea the best approach to fix this? I don't want all BT users to have to change their DNS server settings to Google for instance, there must be a better solution in my view.

As you are a business user, please could you post on the BT Business forum at http://business.forums.bt.com/
Thanks
Are you sure its not your DDNS provider not propagation any IP changes to all nameservers?
As a business user, you should be able to request a static IP address.
I have queried numerous nameservers from Google, Talk Talk, Virgin Media to MSN etc and they all resolve to the correct public IP address. It is just BT nameservers not playing ball as far as I can see.
I wanted to avoid the hassle of going back to BT to get a static IP address as I thought DDNS was the perfect remedy to changing public IP addresses, but it looks like it has its own drawbacks I had not foreseen.
Does anyone know the lead time to get a static public IP address from BT for business broadband?
You need to either ask on the business forum, or speak to BT Business Sales.
