BT Smart talk manage user page is blank

Hi,

 

As a newbie to forums I'm not sure where to start.

I have previously registered for Smart talk a few years back but as I didn't really use it much (and it didn't always work), I deleted it from my phone but I didn't de-register the app on my old phone. 

Now I find I have need to use it again (02 have stopped their TU GO app) I cannot get to the manage user page on My BT.

Whenever I get to this  https://www.bt.com/appsconsumeraccount/secure/homeaway/manage.do the page is blank and thats as far as I get.

I've tried to set the app up on my old phone but its not happening so I'm really struggling to sort this out.

I've tried to set up a new BT ID but that only says that 'New users are blocked from signing up to BT Smart Talk. Please speak to the account holder'.

Please help before I go crazy !!
P.S.  I haven't tried the helpline as I've heard it's a bit useless !!

Welcome to this user forum.

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.

Hi @HC_girl,

 

Thanks for taking my call this morning. Can you try texting SMART to 81192 and let me know if that resolves the issue. I'll schedule a call back for Friday to discuss further.

 

@daveh647 can you also try texting?

Hi, I've just managed to text the number and got the link to download the app but then I tried with an existing Bt id and firstly it said the landline wasn't a BT one so then I tried again and it came up with an error saying there was a problem and to try again and then to close the app and open it again.

Just tried again and got to the 'almost there' then it said it was taking longer to set the account up than expected. Then got to "we haven't been able to set up your account. Touch 'set up your account' and we'll try again"

Tried again this morning and got the 'theres something on the account stopping you from setting the application up, you need to talk to the account holder'.
