The BT SmartTalk Deal gives customers the first 60 minutes of chargeable calls made on BT SmartTalk each month during 2014 free.
This includes chargeable calls to the following destinations:
- UK Local numbers
- UK National numbers
- UK Mobiles
- 0845/0870 numbers
The Deal starts on the 4th January 2014 and runs until the 31st December 2014 and is open to all existing and new BT SmartTalk customers who have completed their sign up to the App by the 31st January 2014.
How do I get the BT SmartTalk Deal?
If you were already a BT SmartTalk customer before January 2014, the deal will be automatically applied to your BT SmartTalk account, and you will start getting your free calls from the 4th January 2014.
If you're new to BT SmartTalk, you’ll need a BT home calling plan and an iPhone/Android smartphone connected to wi-fi or an internet connection.
Then all you need to do is to download the BT SmartTalk App from either the iTunes store (for Apple devices) or Play Store (for Android devices), and then complete the sign up steps for BT SmartTalk before 31st January 2014 in order to get the offer throughout 2014.
The BT SmartTalk Deal will then be automatically applied to your BT SmartTalk account, and you will start getting your free calls.

When do I need to have signed up to BT SmartTalk by, to receive the BT SmartTalk Deal?
If you are not already a BT SmartTalk user, you need to download and complete the BT SmartTalk sign up steps before the 31st January 2014 to receive the BT SmartTalk Deal.
Can other people in my household get the BT SmartTalk Deal?
Yes, each SmartTalk account can have up to 5 users and each user gets 60 minutes of free calls every month during 2014.
Which calls will be included in the BT SmartTalk Deal?
This offer is for chargeable calls* made from the BT SmartTalk App, to the following destinations:
- UK Local Calls
- UK National Calls
- UK Mobile calls
- 0845 and 0870 destinations
*Calls made outside of any inclusive BT calling plan
Your 60 minutes allowance starts on the 4th January 2014 (for existing BT SmartTalk customers) or the date in January that you sign up for the BT SmartTalk App and ends on the 31st December 2014, only calls within these dates will be counted against your 60 minutes allowance.
The 60 minutes is not transferable between BT billing periods, (so if you have not used 20 minutes in BT billing month 1, these minutes will not be added to BT billing month 2).
The 60 minutes is not transferable between different BT SmartTalk users on the same BT SmartTalk account (each user will only get 60 minutes of free calls in any BT billing month).
Which calls are NOT included in the BT SmartTalk Deal?
Calls to the following destinations are NOT included in the BT SmartTalk Deal:
- Premium Rate numbers
- International destinations
- International Mobile numbers
Can I track usage of my free 60 minutes?
Your calls usage for BT SmartTalk is displayed on your ebill on bt.com. This will give an indication of how many of your 60 minutes inclusive calls you have used on each of your BT SmartTalk lines.
If you go over your 60 minutes then you will be charged for these calls.
Please note that this is an indication, and will not be finalised until the anniversary of your regular BT Bill. To ensure that you don't go over your 60 minutes we recommend that you keep a record of the calls you make.
