My BT McAfee anti-virus Vulnerability scanner keeps saying I need to install a critical update for Chrome. This is the third time in three weeks.
It says my version is 32.0.1700.102
I should have
I actually had and still have the very latest version
SO not to worried then. But why? I try to download and it says I need to download a new CHROME
I have cancelled message do I have to accept them and move on?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You could try uninstalling Chrome, and then reinstall. This may delete any Chrome install history, and take you again, to the latest version.
You will also be asked to agree to terms and conditions re targeted adds etc.
Seems after calling BT they have put in an engineers call back to take over the screen!! Never very happy with that unless I can see any changes they make. I will wait and see
If you uninstall Chrome there’s an option to clear browser history.
However you could first try to clear browser history with Chrome as it is now. Then see if it helps.
I have the same problem. If I run BT Virus Protect/McAfee vulnerability checker it says I need a critical update - Chrome which it thinks is v20.0.1096.1. In fact my Chrome is v77.0.3865.90
Is it really a case of deleting all the Chrome browsing history or is a there a flag or log I can reset?
Also I now have a pop-up which tells me my McAfee will expire in 5 days.
Hi Ian FYI
I did clear out the history, cache and cookies. That made no difference.
I am not going to go to the trouble of uninstalling it all and reinstalling it. I think it is quite quick and easy but it will mean losing all the icons as it just has and even after syncing it took two weeks to populate properly.
I would have thought SOMEONE SOMEWHERE would know WITHOUT pretending to have never heard of the problem and taking over the screen to adjust things.
I did get pop ups for my old Anti Virus from McAfee, I deleted them and after expiry it stopped.
