BT Virus Protect - is it any good?

Hi,

I realise that this question has probably been asked a million times already but I was hoping to get an honest review of BT Virus Protect, from those who are either using it or have used it in the past.

Please could you tell me the following:

1:  Does it slow down your computer in any way - even during bootup or login?

2:  Does it integrate properly with Windows 10?

3:  Is it effective at doing its job - what is its detection rate?

4:  How often does it create false positives?

5:  Does it work in real time?

Also, I have the Windows 10 Creators update installed on my computer, which includes real-time virus and malware scanners and a firewall.  Is BT Virus Protect any better than this?

I want to make the best use of my packages but I am a bit dubious of BTs offerings because in the past their extras have not been worth the hassle they have caused.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer a total noob question.

Cheers

Jay

Re: BT Virus Protect - is it any good?

BT Virus Protect is just a re-badged McAfee product.

See link

Personally I would avoid it as McAfee does not usually get good reviews however if you do an Internet search for virus protection ratings  and check out the McAfee forum you should be able to come to an informed decision.
