I have recently upgraded my mobile phone and downloaded the BT WIFI app, but when I input my login details and press log on I get this message.
If I press ok it just takes me back to the login screen.
With earlier phones I have had a similar message but with an option to ignore or go ahead anyway.
The email address is my BT ID and I do not really wish to change it. I have viewed posts with similar issues but not this one.

Enter the address as @btinternet.com rather than @openworld.com. As an email address the 2 are interchangeable, as a username for BTID they are not.
