BT WiFi & android 6.0

Go to solution
Since android on my Motorola nexus upgraded to android 6.0 the BT WiFi app has stopped connecting to hotspots and I have to logon via the btwifi landing page on my browser. Any ideas?

Have you tried uninstalling the app, re-starting your phone then re-instlling the app.

Yes a couple of times as well as trying hotspots at more than one location.

BT need to update the app to work with Marshmallow, they've had plenty of time to do this - I have ended up uninstalling the app as it won't work at all (using Nexus 6 with Marshmallow) and no clue as when they will update it - will just have to keep checking the play store

Just to add to this. I recently changed my phone to a nexus6p which also runs android 6.0. This setup has the same problem in that it does not now work with bt WiFi hotspots. This is annoying. I also reported this to BT but their response was 'there is no problem with the app and the latest version of android'. I will try reporting this again and post any response here.

etx01 - Have you evr reported this as an issue to BT ? I think reporting it is probably the best bet on this. I will report it tomorrow. I did have a phone number to contact BT wifi support direct rather than go through all the call centres - I will try to find the number and post on here. I reported it last weeek and will do so again tomorrow.

good luck
