Not really sure where best to post this but the gist is, we had BT Wifi hotspot access set up for one account which was also BT broadband customer account and it was absolutely perfect. It expired on that account as we've cancelled it and are in the process of moving.
The second account I made has been nothing but trouble, and now seems to be completely unable to connect in any way. It used to get stuck on obtaining the IP address, now it just seems to connect with no internet access. I'm always in range of the hotspot but it just won't let me access it.
Any clues as to why it's doing this?
If you are no longer a BT Broadband customer you will not be able to use BTWifi by logging onto it with the BTID that was associated with the cancelled BT Broadband account.
As you may already know, BTWifi hotspots are generally supplied by BT Broadband customers hub transmitting the signal.
They are not controlled by BT and as such customers can opt out of BTWifi or the hotspot stops transmitting or it does not allow a connection for some reason. This can generally be resolved by a reset of the BT hub however that can only be done by the broadband customer and not BT.
Have you tried another BTWifi hotspot? This would help you determine if the problem is with your BTWifi account or with the hotspot.
If you still can not connect you should call the BTWifi Help Line 0800 022 33 22

So we've got it working on a laptop no problem, seems to just be our three phones that can't connect. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, cleared cache, restarted phones, the usual home checks.
It doesn't seem to work at other hotspots on phones either.
Sounds like it is an app problem. Have you deleted/forget any previous connection that you have made. It may be that the "old" password is being retained. Try deleting all BTWifi connections on your phone when you scan for wireless networks and use the "new" password/passkey to make a connection.
If that doesn't help try logging on using a web browser on your phones to see if that will work. If it does you'll know its is most likely an app issue.
