BT Wifi Opt out

I have BT Infinity 1 with Homehub5.

I've been through the web procedure to opt out of BT Wifi and this has been accepted but I still cannot stop the BT hotspot from being advertised from my router.

I have reset the HH5 to factory settings as well.

Re: BT Wifi Opt out

How long have you waited, it can take days/weeks for the opt-out to work. Its not just a question of switching it off on your hub.

Re: BT Wifi Opt out

Less than a week, but when I opted out the confirmation indicated a disabling within 48hrs

I guess that's too much to expect?

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.

Re: BT Wifi Opt out

Hi @Bazza66

Thanks for posting back!

@john46 is right, it can take up to 28 days from when the request has been received to opt you out of BT Wifi.  Obviously, we're well passed that now so it looks like a potential spanner in the works!

You can get in touch with us and we'll help you get this sorted.  Click on my username here >> RobbieMac << and you'll see our contact link on the left hand side underneath my profile picture.

Cheers,

Robbie

Re: BT Wifi Opt out

Hi JohnC2

Sorry for delay. Have been away.  Unfortunately HH5 still shows BTWifi-with-FON & BTWifi-X.
