Put new Norton BT virus protect on phone no problems, tried to put it on my Lenovo Tab4
and it just keeps loading the McAfee virus protect app. I've tried the email link it goes
to the norton page for download but get the McAfee app which asks for activation code,
click on link and get blank page. Still does this with the manual fix as well.
Hi @Geoff200 I'm sorry to see you're experiencing problems getting the Norton version of BT Virus protect on your tablet. Can you follow the below steps and let me know if this works?
Please visit www.bt.com/updateyoursecurity on a web browser on your tablet and log in using BT ID and password.
You'll then be taken to the Your Security page. From there:
Now open the BT Virus Protect app you downloaded and log in using your My BT username and password.
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil.
Yes tried all that with same result.
BT virus protect, gives manage or Learn more, click manage this takes me to my Norton, click download, takes me to google play site.
BT Virus Protect displayed with blue background, underneath this it says installed with green background. click this, brings pop up with bt virus protect with install button, click this, takes me to google account verify, click next and it goes back to google play with bt virus protect in blue also a pop up saying, BT virus protect will be installed on your device soon. click OK on pop up, download starts and finishes with BT Virus protect, successfully installed in the notification bar, with the red McAfee symble on the left.
McAfee app symble displayed on screen, click on this and it comes up with the McAfee privacy notice, accept this and it it ends up at the ready to get started page with the McAfee symble top left of page asking for an activation code?
I've tried this several times all with the same result
Removed Mcafee restarted tablet, same result.
Hi, @Geoff200 Many thanks for trying that, what Android operating system is your tablet currently on? It must be Android 8.0 or later to get the Norton version of BT Virus protect.
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil
Could be the problem as it's 7.1.1
so what virus protection can I use?
Geoff
@Geoff200 Hi Geoff, I'm sorry the BT Virus protect will only work on devices that are on Android 8 or above. Is it possible to update the Tablet to a newer version of the Android operating system?
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil
Not able to update to newer version of android and no manafacturer plans to do so.
McAfee worked fine on it and said I still had a valid subsricption when I uninstalled it.
Or does BT have plans for devices on older android systems?
Geoff
I agree with you Geoffrey, my tablet also will not run the new Norton antivirus so bt must consider older systems because antivirus is part of our package so let's hope they get their finger out
