Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

There is a separate number for BT Cloud issues: 0800 500 3114

May be worth ringing them if you can. Just weekday working hours; not sure of exact times.

Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

Thanks

Usually calling BT support results in someone telling me to restart my browser and then to restart my computer!

Mumbai informs me this a well known errror, I cannot use Cloud Client on a Mac

Makes you wonder why they offer it for download then

Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

People certainly have used BT Cloud clients on Mac.

They mostly haven't been too happy about the result (like most of the PC users of BT Cloud),

but many have at least got it working.

For example, see:

http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/BT-Cloud-Mac-Problem/td-p/781982

http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/BT-Cloud-for-Mac-removing-software/td-p/776784

Did you contact Mumbai on the usual BT help number,

or the Cloud specific one I gave earlier put you through to them? (0800 500 3114)

Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

Well they shouldn't as apparently BT say it doesn't work! MY PC version, btw, seems error free so far.

The number you gave put me through to an Indian accented lady, I assume it is the same Indian call centre as general BT support. Of course she may have been located anywhere, one should not assume I suppose.

Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

Im not having a problem on my Mac with BT Cloud.

I'm currently uploading 20GB of photos to the Cloud and its running along quite nicely.

I havent done anything different in the setup other than what it asked.

Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

Well mine wont run at all, I am Intel iMac 10.6.8, an old white one. What have you got?

The clue may be that in that console message I see the words 'wrong architecture' so it may actually be the familiar Apple message of 'buy a new Mac'

20GB? You can't have the same BT Router I have, it disconnects if asked to do more than upload a word doc.

Might be worth doing a reset on the router and see if it gets any better.

My HH3 used to allow upload at a steady 17Mbps to a good service (SquirrelSave, not to BT Cloud; though uploads to that are not too bad nowadays).

With an unlocked HG612 modem and QoS disabled now 18.5Mbps.  It was mainly for backup speeds that I decided to get Infinity.

If resetting your doesn't help and this matters to you, try service and see if they are as clueless on that as they seem to be on BT Cloud on Mac.  If so, then try the mods.

Re: Cloud will not install on my Mac - console error message

I've got one of the black curved shape routers. I reset it every time it craps out. Which is at least once a day.

Phone calls to support always seem to revolve around me attaching a laptop by ethernet and restarting the laptop even though it has nothing to do with the computer as I have 3 pcs, 1 mac, a phone and a tablet and when the connection goes, it goes for all of them wired or wireless.

I then receive suggestions to remodel my home so that the router can be positioned very close to the phone socket, This is unfortunately not possible.

Nor is it possible to turn off every electronic device that's anywhere near the router, as they suggest.

This never happened with the old BT router, so call me a clueless IT halfwit, but I reckon the router may be faulty.
