Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

Hello,

I recently had some issues getting Wifi on my tablet though I sorted it. I downloaded the BT Wifi app and I coulde connect to my HUB, Wifi-FON and BTWifi-X.

However now I cant seem to be able to connect to BTWifi-X, it says 'identification error occured' then asks for identification or something, which I have no clue.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Lee.

Re: Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

Try a factory reset of the Homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds. This can often sort out problems.

Re: Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

I can connect to the Home Hub just fine, and BT-FON. I just cant connect to BTWifi-X, which doesnt include the HUB. I have the BT Wifi App instaklled on my Samsung Tablet but it wont let me connect to BTWifi-X anymore.

Does a HUB reset make any difference?

Re: Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

Are you talking about BTWifi-X on your own Homehub or when out and about? If it is when out and about then resetting your own hub will make no difference.

If it is your own hub, try it and see. You have nothing to lose if it is not working at present.

As regards connecting to your own Homehub and not BTWifi-fon or BTWifi-X you do not need an app to do that. You need to use the wireless passkey that is on the Homehub label.

You should make sure that you have "Smart set up" on the Homehub turned off. See link how to do that.

Re: Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

I have no issues connecting to my own home HUB, only BTWifi-X.

I used to be able to connect to BtWifi-X sitting next to my HUB, but it doesnt work now. It shows a strong signal and says the signal strength is very strong, but when I click 'Connect' it just says connecting then stops and it then it just connects to my home hub.

When I turn my home HUB off and try and connect, it does the same thing except connects to Wifi-FON.

It said 'Identification Error Occured' the first time, now it just says ''Saved, Secured'

I got a strong feeling resetting my home HUB wont do anything.

Re: Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

I just reset my HUB and it didnt do anything, same issue.

It says:

BTWifi-X

EAP method

PEAP (drop down arrow)

Phase 2 authentication

None (drop down arrow)

CA certificate

(unspecified)

Identity

<Wants me to type something>

Anonymous Identity

<Wants to me to type something>

Enter Password

Wireless passkey wont work.

Re: Could connect to BTWifi-X but now I cant.

I would have tried the BTWifi help line 0800 022 33 22 first. They are very helpful and usually manage to resolve mot issues and it's free.
