I can log in to the My BT app so I know that the password is correct (I can also log into MyBT on the web but the BT Wi-fi app will not accept the same password.
I am stumped as to what to try next.

If you have changed your password at some point in the past try using the "old" password if you can remember it.
Thanks. It so happens that I might have sorted the problem. I might have made a mistake in typing in the password. I now need to goo out and test it.
Can you not test it on your own hub, or do you have a third party router?
I might well be able to test it on my own hub if I delete my password so that my mobile has to use the app.
Hm... I did that test and I find that I can't log in to BTWi-fi.
This is so frustrating!
Sorry that I have been such a long tie getting back. All apears to be well now and has been for some time. The proplem was, IIRC (It was a while ago.) that I was not logging into the app correctly. I do find the hints from the app a little opaque.
