As the title say, how do you reconnect BT Cloud to an existing BT Cloud folder on my PC
The software stopped working so I reinstalled it and it reverted to the default folder in the Users folder on C:\
My actual folder is on a 1TB secondary drive and if I try to pint it at the folder, it complains about it already containing a folder calle BT Cloud.
Any ideas as I dont fancy having to resync 350GB?
You don't say if the target drive is internal or external, if it's a network drive then you need to map it to a drive letter.
Its an internal secondary drive, I do also have a NAS as local backup.
Just to clarify, I have a BT Cloud folder on my seondary internal drive from a previous version of BT Cloud.
I installed the latest version and it changed the sync folder to C:\user|<username>\BT Cloud, rather than the custom I:\BT Cloud that it should be using.
Changing the sync folder path in the console just generates an error that the "BT Cloud" folder already exists and choose another location.
If you installed the new version over the old version then try uninstalling, restarting and re-installing.
I'll give anything a try, to save resyncing 359GB
I'm only going by my own experience when I upgraded, I have two sync folders, one on C: and one on a NAS and they both work fine
Sorry, still the same problem, cannot choose an existing folder call "BT Cloud" that has all my sync'ed file in it.
May have to try a system restore to before the update.
A system restore to the previous version of BT Cloud solved it. Now to do an in place upgrade, not an uninstall and re-install as was recommended.
I did the opposite and everything's working smoother than ever, just goes to show how unpredictable this app can be. Let me know how it goes.
I'm actually a sysadmin for a Windows domain so I have a fairly good grasp of IT, but this software is just pants.
