How to stop BT Cloud app autoloading on other users' accounts?

Go to solution

Hi,

I have a number of user accounts on the PC (Windows 😎 which I do not want to backup via the BT Cloud app. Is there any way to only have the app auto start on one user account and not them all? Can't seem to find any settings or preferences within the app itself?

Cheers

I am not sure BT Cloud provides this important feature.

One way is to use a StartUp control program.  One of the simplest is http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

You will probably find the BT Cloud program in one of two places.

It may well be listed with a name such as 'F-Secure Hoster'

  • If it is in Startup (common) move it to Startup (user).
  • If it is in HKLM/Rrun move it to HKCU/Run.

I can't remember which and can't check as I have completely removed it from auto starting.

Thanks, using that utility I was able to move the F-Secure Hoster from HKLM/Run to HKCU/Run, problem solved!
Cheers!

I appreciate this is an old thread but this is alternative way:

OS: Vista

1) Navigate to:

i) C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\startup

2) Delete "BT Cloud" shortcut.

3) Logoff and logon

4) Done!!!

Note: If you cannot see the 'AppData' folder it is hidden from view. To view this:

1) Navigate to:

i) C:\Users\%username% | press 'Alt' key - this will bring up a menu at the top | Tools | Folder Options | 'View' Tab | Files and Folders | Hidden Files and Folders | Select "Show Hidden files and folders"

You will then be able to see the 'AppData' folder.

Good Luck!
