McAfee failing to update on my Macbook Pro

McAfee is failing to update on my Macbook Pro.

I tried to manually update it, come up with 'failed'

I tried to uninstall it and then re-install again, still the same.

It runs ok and the subscription verifies successfully. Any ideas anyone?

I would recommend using a different anti-virus software such as Sophos for Mac.

MacBook running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.4. Has the same problem.

I did the same thing - fresh download from the BT website and reinstalled. Tried a manual update and nothing - just comes back after a few minutes and says "Failed". Auto update process does the same thing.

One point - When starting up the .dmg package there is a message saying that 'the developer needs to update the installation as it is out of date' (or something like that - a compatibility check I think)
