Norton BT Virus Protect - The File Shredder has gone

I found the McAfee file shredder extremely useful in ensuring files with private information were securely destroyed. This is especially important for people running small businesses who have a Privacy/GDPR responsibility to their customers.  It was so easy to use with a simple right click against a file when in Windows File Explorer.

Norton BT Virus Protect does not appear to have it.  Or does it?

I also miss no longer having the file  shredder that was with McAfee. As I did use it at times.

@DaveJWalker not everyone will  know how to use Windows File Explorer to delete stuff from the recycle bin.  File shredder with McAfee was handy.

Have never noticed Norton Power Eraser on the BT version of Norton and cant say if that like the old McAfee file shredder.

Re: Norton BT Virus Protect - The File Shredder has gone

I used McAfee file shredder frequently and also cannot find anything in Norton which will do the same. Also if you use the 'Custom Task' within Norton it will only clear out 'Internet Explorer' outdated files, 'Explorer' History and outdated Unwanted Windows 'temporary files. As I only use Mozilla Firefox and I can't find any way of changing the custom tasks the above is of little use.

Bring back McAfee!!
