Norton Upgrade and McAfee removal

Should the existing McAfee packages be removed before updating?

Using the text link method on Android I am informed the app is already installed but it is still the McAfee product?

Updating the PCs does this need McAfee uninstalled first?

Is there a better description of the process required.

Hi @jetk, sorry you're having a problem changing over to Norton.

Have a look at this BT Virus Protect help page for further guidance. 

For PC's I note it says "During the installation process, BT Virus Protect powered by Norton will detect any other anti-virus software (including BT Virus Protect powered by McAfee) on your device and offer to uninstall it for you."

The android device needs to be working on Android 8.0 or a later version.

The device is runnig Android 10. Motorola Power G7.

Has BT virus protect installed.

Using a text link from My BT to the phone to update to Norton.

The link takes to me google play.

Google play indicates that BT Virus Protect is installed.

There is not an update option.

However, I now find that if I open via settings the BT Virus Protect there is an update option.

Update taken place.

All good now on Android phone, now the PCs and IOS!!
