Norton ant-virus problems

Hi - so we don't seem to be able to update to the new Norton anti-virus software. Process just stalls when requested to un-install previous (McAfee) software. Any thoughts, anyone ?

Sorry you're having problems updating the the Norton. Are you seeing any error messages? Take a look through Can't update from McAfee to Norton  and let me know if that helps.

So there are no error messages flagged up. The process just stalls on the un-install of McAfee - I have left it (literally) overnight to ensure it's not a time thing,  but have to cancel out ultimately (to do stuff).
