Parental Control Youtube

Go to solution

Can anyone help please?

I have youtube as a specific blocked site on parental controls.

It works to block it on our PC's, mobile phones and Samsung tv, but the block doesnt work on our 3 Hudl tablets.

If I block media streaming completely, then the block works on all devices.

The BT parental controls team have been pretty useless.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Is there an additional URL I should be blocking?

Blocking youtube.com and m.youtube.com already.

Thank you.

I don't know why YouTube is not blocked on the Hudl unless it is something to do with the Youtube app routing things differently.

This link might be able to help you with filters

Thanks, yes I think it must be something to do with the routing of the app.

Filters are fine, but my kids would be able to turn them off quite simply, so I was looking for a more

secure option.

Thanks tho.

Re: Parental Control Youtube

If you set up user accounts on the Hudl you can set up blocks for apps on the Hudl. If you make yours the mster account your kids would not be able to easily overcome the block without you knowing about it.

Re: Parental Control Youtube

Thanks for suggestion but by accessing another forum elsewhere found the answer!

I'm still waiting for BT's parental controls team to come back to me, apparently they were going to phone back on 29th between 6 and 7pm!!

Anyway, just in case anyone else needs to know, to block the Android youtube app you block googlevideo.com, to block the

apple device app you block i.google.com.
