Solved - Ditching parental controls to use OpenDNS alternative

Replaced BT Home hub finally with Asus RT-AC66U, very sad to say, the Home Hub is a good piece of hardware just severely hamstrung by the firmware that BT have placed on it ... even though this Asus is pretty top of the line, the throughput on "standard N" clients is only slightly faster than the HH 3.


Note, if anyone else wishes to go down this route, please note that multicast video (like BT Sport on Youview) will NOT work on the vast majority of routers. See list of routers that do work in this thread (my new router is a version of the N66U and needs to be added to the list):


I had previously swicthed off wifi on my HH and used an additional router to perform wifi and utilise OpenDNS.
