Trying to install Norton Antivirus for Android

Go to solution

Hello. Hoping for some help with the following when trying to install new a/v app:

I log in to My BT and then browse to Your Security section

I can see BT Virus Protect and Norton Password Manager

If I select the manage option for BT Virus Protect, I then see the My Norton screen and it shows 0 of 2 licenses used, and Device Security not setup.

If I select the Device Security prompt I get redirected to Google Play Store and the option to uninstall or open BT Virus Protect. I've uninstalled the app, but when I log back into My BT, I'm still not seeing the Norton app? Apologies for the lengthy post.

Hi @DeeEmmBee, welcome to the forum, and sorry you're having trouble switching over to Norton.

Is the device you're installing it on running on Android 8.0 or later?

When you visit www.bt.com/updateyoursecuritylog in using BT ID and password.

You'll then be taken to the Your Security page. From there you should see a Switch to Norton button.

Cheers

John

Hi John. Many thanks for the quick reply. I don't see the Switch to Norton option, and the version of Android is 6.0.1, which looks as though isn't compatible with the Norton app.

Re: Trying to install Norton Antivirus for Android

Hi @DeeEmmBee, that's the problem as it has to be 8.0 or a later version.

You may be able to update your device with the steps below.

How to update your Android operating system version:

1. From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon to go to settings.

2. Tap System and then tap System update. If you cannot find System update, you may need to scroll down or tap Advanced.

3. If an Android update is available for your device, tap Install to download and install the update.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Cheers

John
