Updating from McAfee to Norton

Go to solution

When I try to install the Norton package I get a message advising that it is clashing with my already installed (and subscribed to) McAfee package. I then am told I need to uninstall McAfee. Reluctant to do so. I assume I can ignore the Norton download and be confident that the McAfee package on my laptop will be sufficient protection.....

If you have a paid for version of McAfee on your computer just keep using that and ignore the "need" to change to Norton.

Norton is a free add on supplied by BT to its broadband customers and is replacing the free supplied version of McAfee, that would need to be uninstalled prior to installing Norton.

There is no requirement for you or anybody else to use these products if they don't want to.

Many thanks. I hoped that was the situation. Doesn't seem cost effective to uninstall something I have paid for. 👍
