Useless My BT App

The BT App needs urgent attention.

I've installed it on my Android phone and set up my BT ID and password. A set the app to use biometric login (also set a PIN at its insistence).

Any further attempt to use the app ignores the biometric and PIN settings and asks for my BT ID and password again. When I enter it I'm told it's incorrect. A second attempt results in my account being locked.

The thing is useless!!

When you set up biometric login it should honour it - every time and not just once.

The thing is beyond frustrating.

I can only log into the MyBT app on random occasions. Although biometric login is enabled the app disables it whenever it chooses and, if I'm lucky, makes me enter my BT IT and password again before it either shows me a blank screen with "Reset" shown at the top in a purple stripe or tells me something has gone wrong and insists I restart so it can put me through the whole palaver again. And so, round we go, attempt after attempt. It would be quicker to let a troupe of monkeys create apps randomly to get a solution than wait for BT to do something about their appalling mobile app which they insist you use when you try to sort something out on your laptop and browser (which used to work once you'd managed to navigate BT's impenetrable website).

Their service status (on the web) says "We are aware of an issue with customers experiencing Blue lights and No Connection on their Hub. We are working hard to fix this issue."

It's been saying this for a few days. If I check my actual number it tells me there are no problems. (Except, of course, the MyBT app which is permanently dysfunctional but doesn't warrant a notification - is it intended to be as bad as it is?)

I've gone ahead and merged this with your existing thread around the app so everything is in one place. 

Have you had a chance to reach out to our team like @Rach_H has recommended here?

If you haven't, in the meantime there's a few simple steps you can try like making sure your handset is fully up to date, and trying a fresh install on the app as well.
