Using someone else's access point when away from home

Go to solution

When away on business I occasionally avail myself of the facility of logging on to someone else's BT access point - all BT accounts give (restricted) access to strangers by default - you rub my back and I rub yours.

This feature doesn't seem to be very well documented - I get the impression if there is no traffic for a period then the connection is terminated - ie I have left my PC for half an hour? and come back to find I have to log in again.

Is this so, and how long is the time out?

Your account will automatically log-out due to inactivity after 15 minutes.

Thanks - as I suspected - but somewhat shorter than I hoped.
