Why has my Norton 360 protection suddenly expired when it is supposed to be part of my BT Broadband

Go to solution

I have just invested in a new laptop and a trusted friend has transferred all data etc from my old machine to the new one.  This has been successful to date untiI I find a Warning message that my Norton 360 security package has ended when it should be part of my on-going BT Broadband package.  Please help.  Thank You

@iansally

It is of course entirely up to you what security package you choose to use, but if your new laptop is Windows OS, just use Windows Defender antivirus.

I suspect it is probably referring to the Generic Norton package that was shipped with the laptop. Ask your friend if he uninstalled the generic version and installed the BT version, I suspect not.

How many licences for Norton do you have?

If you only have two, have you used them both already. If you have you will need to remove it from one of your devices.

I don't use BT's Norton but this may help you find out out to remove the device from the account.
