You are seeing this page because.....

I do not use any of the bt extras at all, never have.

I use the google dns servers as they are better than bt's

As of this evening I am seeing this as my homepage and I cant even get to google.co.uk:

You are seeing this page because you are using a BT service which requires the use of BT DNS Servers and it appears that you are attempting to connect using a DNS server outside of our network.

Our BT Protect and BT Parental Controls services both require the use of our BT DNS to keep you safe online.

You may have selected a different server in your network settings or installed an application that uses an alternative service.

Click here to find out how to fix this

Please can somone fix this as I cant stop something that I dont have or use.

Re: You are seeing this page because.....

Your DNS requests (port 53) are being intercepted by either BT Protect, or BT Parental controls. Parental controls may have been activated by BT automatically, similar to what othe ISPs are doing. They are usually set to "light".

If you go into MyBT, you can check this.

It does not always show this, so to make sure, enable parental controls first. That will then give you the option to totally delete them.

Then reboot the home hub, and flush any DNS caches.

Re: You are seeing this page because.....

I just did a reboot on the home hub to flush any DNS caches and it sorted the problem.
