Your free boost is ready to open

Go to solution

I have just received an email headed Your free boost is ready to open from BT?

It says

We’ve got a little surprise just for you – a free boost on us. There’s no need to activate anything, and no charges. Simply open your boost below to find out what you’ve got.

Then has a link to click on to open your boost. I looked on my home page at BT but it does not mention anything about this 'boost'!

Is this genuine of a phishing attempt?

Anyone know anything about this, It looks so genuine but I dare not click the link.

The last 'free boost' from BT was back in 2009 and related to the Iplate or ADSL2+

So 'phishing' I guess

@scrimper That is a current promotion that we have been contacting customers about recently. If you click on the email address header on the top of the email it should show that it has come from a bt.com email address.

Many thanks

I had already done that but I was still dubious as scammers are so clever at faking stuff.

I thought it looked genuine but one is never sure as they are so devious and I Had not seen it mentioned anywhere else.

I too thought it was suspicious and haven't clicked on the link yet.  If it is legitimate the marketing people at BT may need to rethink their style.

the email I received had a tittle " here's your free boost" and was from bt.athome@ecomm.bt.com NOT bt.athome@bt.com
