How do I turn off BT Fon?

Hi,

I have searched information and it all tells me to go to my BT Broadband account and opt out.

The account showed opted in and now shows opted out.

My BT Home hub 2 however still broadcasts BTFON and BT Openzone and shows active in the menus - it also tells me to go to my account to opt out which I have done.

Is it a case of waiting? If so any idea how long before it turns off.

I opted out last week but when I check with my WIFI mobile app it shows active and my SID with Fon and Openreach on the same frequency.  To be sure I was not picking up anyone else locally I turned off my ADSL Modem and the Fon and Opezone IDs also turned off - BUT sadly came back when I turned back on again.

Anyone else had this problem as most posts seem to be about opting in and getting Fon working??

Thanks

Re: How do I turn off BT Fon?

Thanks for the link I have read it I'm not optimistic that it will turn off and I don't want hard reset if possible.

BT take note it would be good for your paying customers if they could disable it in the Hub - there can be NO technical reason why we cant do it ourselves other than YOU want it ON !!  So you don't give the option in the spec.

I will wait a little longer then call the number you have provided.

Thanks

You're right there. It used to be possible to opt in or out on the hub. Can't remember whether it was instant, but it certainly didn't take a month!

Factory resetting the hub now seems to be enabling FON not disabling it.
