What is your experience when trying to use Amazon Prime @cassac?

Is it all content you see this with?

Re: Amazon Prime App on TV

Hi, firstly it used to work well for many years then 2 yrs ago it started to drop out part way thru’ a movie. Then it would constantly be stuck on buffer. Now I can log in and choose a film it shows buffer then closes app and goes back to tv. It’s been redundant for quite a while. I know it’s the box as can watch Netflix and now thru’ it. Yes it is my only way to watch thru’ box on tv as it’s a comp screen rather than smart tv. That part is set up via the bt tv you view box. FYI the app is fine on iPad or phone. The box is up to date as upgrades. I don’t know whether Prime is too smart for the youview box etc. I’ve checked settings on tv it’s on 1080p plus input cable. I’m at a loss as see many people have this issue. I wonder if a different more modern box would help?  Any ideas gratefully accepted 😀

Re: Amazon Prime App on TV

Hi @cassac

I believe 91-00931  is the DTR2100 box so  that is a model dating back to 2013 so its technology is nearing 12 years old so unlikely to be much in the way of updates other thaan decomissioning any withdrawn apps (eg as with  discovery+ later this month).

If you still have a BT EETV subscription then it may be worth exploring a box replacement.

Even the latest (recordable) box the EE Tv Box Pro doesn't have the latest Prime Video App (ie missing FAST channels).

Also if you watch the Prime Video own  live sports events stream the (Youview) EE TV boxes don't have some of the Rewind, pause and fast forward options  so if  Prime Video is a important service for you you may want to consider using a different device.

Thank you so very much @zulu17 . I’m about to renegotiate my contract so will speak to them about getting me a new box. Is there a different way of getting Amazon into my tv? I don’t watch it hugely but like to have it.

An Amazon Firestick will be perfect for your needs. If you don't need 4K then the HD version is as cheap as chips and usually on offer even cheaper on Black Friday. Plus the Firestick will give you access to the collection of FAST channels you won't get on the Pro Box, and a nice "live channels" section that will put everything, plus the PSB channels, into a nice 7 day programme guide.

@Hunter2660 That sounds great. Thanks so much. Will take a look on Amazon. It may even be useful to use on my spare computer screen that I have upstairs 🤩.
