I’ve just checked ITV2 now and Yes, it’s fixed.

The input is now showing correctly as 2.0 and the Receiver is reading it as such, only playing through then FL & FR channels.

Following a full audit of all channels, the following have now been fixed to match the output to the input signal:
- Channel 5
- ITV2
- UTV
- ITV1 Granada
- ITV1 Central West
- C4 Scotland
- ITV3
- CITV
- ITVBe
- ITV4
- C4 London
- C4 Midlands
- Quest

Unfortunately Quest is incorrectly sending us a feed that is tagged as 5.1 channels - this is still being investigated to find whether they can fix their stream, or we need to override it.

Are the Eurosport HD channels also having the same issue? The skiing today was suggesting 5.1, but live and recorded playback via Discovery+ said 2.0

@DarrenDev I see Eurosport (and probably Quest) are still saying they are 5.1 audio. Any joy with getting Discovery to correct their metadata tagging?

Theres been a few updates to the EETV box and looks like we back to the same issue.

Example: BBC1 is two channel

 looks like the tagging is showing as 5.1

BBC2 looks to be correct but ITV1 is two channel but coming through as 5.1.

Havent changed anything on my Receiver since this issue was fixed.

Anyone else having this issue again?

@AlyCath  It depends what is on. Some programmes in BBC are 5.1, eg Doctor Who, some movies etc. However, things like the news should be 2.0. On Freeview, it is dynamic. I'll have to check.

(Now: iPlayer is always 2.0)

Very few programmes on BBC1/2 are 5.1 but this week there is live Wimbledon on both channels to check with.

ITV1 has never been 5.1 output so the box is wrong if showing that.

BBC iPlayter too has never been 5.1 - meaning viewers of Wimbledon and Doctore Who have to choose between UHD/HDR pictore or 5.1 audio.
