Thanks for clearing that up mate, that makes sense as I was wondering that earlier because of course its possible to access the box outside the home....

OK, DarrenDev beat me to it, and with a proper explanation. Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the tablet is reconnected to the mesh network and the app is working fine. My phone is only ever connected to the mesh WiFI network, although it must have been connected to the hub WiFi network when I installed the app.
It appears that once the app has found the hub and connected to it for the first time, it doesn't care what WiFi network the tablet or phone is subsequently connected to. This is useful because it means I can schedule recordings when out and about and not on any of the home networks.
