Yeah, popped up when I opened the app. A bit annoying to lose that functionality, but at least I can still access the app through my tv instead if the box

Thank You for bringing this unexpected announcement to the community's attention. I have highlighted the thread  and asked the forum moderation team to seek the official EETV/BT  line on this.

I've just received confirmation that we had been told that support for discovery+ on the Humax TV Boxes was ending (the TV Recordable Box, and TV 4K Recordable Box). A statement will be posted on here as soon as possible.

The TV Box Pro, TV Box Mini, and Apple TV will continue to be supported.

(updated 09:50 following clarification from the product team)

Hi there,

It’s a BT TV 4K Recordable Box.

I would call BT and ask them to replace the box with a Pro Box - sure they will work something out

Anyone with a Humax TV Box has been entitled to swap for a TV Box Pro for a few years now - as long as a new contract is started.  There are no current plans to swap boxes for people out of contract.

Looks like someone has jumped the gun on this as the advisory message tells you to go their web site for further information but that still has these G4/G5 boxes listed as supported with no intimation that they are going to be dropped.

I was wondering if this was a step towards the app being dropped completely and all content being moved to the HBO Max service that has been touted around for the last year.

Personally I will be in no hurry to change from my 4000T/G5 box as the app will appear to still continue to be available on my Chromecast dongle or by casting from my mobile phone.

@gomezz yes the support website information is lacking the necessary information for customers to make informed choices. For example are there any other platforms where the app is being withdrawn.

It is suprising given that EETV and discovery+ launched their connected red button service to access extra stream on  boxes that are now to lose the discovery+  app.

If your box is no longer supported for discovery plus and you don't wish to renew your contract or get a pro box, probably best to use a fire or Roku stick.
