I had a perfectly good BT Probox but upon renewing my contract I was issued with a new EE Probox. This was a couple of months ago. Since receiving the new EE Probox there is a problem with winding on recordings . This does not happen all the time but intermittently when winding on a recording it might get part way through and then jump back to the beginning. BT engineers have reset the software twice. One engineer is of the opinion that you can’t wind on recorded adverts??????? I do it all the time with recorded programs.
If you're using IP (internet) mode you are unable to F/W through the ads on any ITV channel. In aerial mode nothing changes.
Thanks for the reply but as I said I have no problem winding on adverts the intermittent problem that I can’t overcome is that sometimes when winding a recording forward the recording jumps back to the beginning of the recording. I did NOT have this problem with the BT pro box
Hello @Wombat22
This is an ongoing Problem with some (most?) EETVBOXPROs.The goodish news is that (for me) it has improved a bit recently.
Have you found that when Recording jumps back to start that if you are Recording another Channel that is then stopped? This always happens with me and also the "live" TV Channel drops back to BBC1 (Ch1) when spotted I need to restart the Recording.
I also find that switching Subtitles on or off can cause this glitch.Besides that TNT Sport Recordings have given this error more often.
Like I say, this appears to be slowly improving - I certainly don't think Factory Reset of Box is worth doing nor asking BT (EE?} to replace is necessarily worth trying.
Good Luck that this improves more in a short time.
Thank you for your reply. As I suspected there is a problem but it is either not well known or BT/EE are not owning up. I think it is probably not that well known yet. Your comments about sub titles is interesting because I do get the sub titles freeze if I fast forward. I will watch out for the problem of recordings stopping and/or channel change. As of yet I have not noticed that. As I said in my original post I never had the problems with my original BT Probox
