When fast forwarding through recordings (usually the adverts) then pressing pause/continue button on occasions the screen freezes and the goes back to the start of the recording. Meanwhile any ongoing live recordings stop
BT did a remote soft reset a few months ago but problem has returned so much so I am reluctant to fast forward and consequently have to endure the recorded adverts
This is a new box since delivered when went full fibre in the Autumn 2025. The previous box was so much better and faster
Any thoughts apart from a full reset

That fault you describe @captain999 has been suffered by myself and many others for some months now.I must say that it appears to have improved recently but still happens ,for me,occasionally.
This has also had other "triggers" which have caused same,or similar,problem.
I notice that people,like myself,who regularly use Subtitles seem to be most susceptible - If you also use Subtitles you might try without them switched on if you can to see if it helps.
Also when you come to adverts,if you don't already do so,instead of "whizzing" through Adverts using ,say,15x or 30x try holding the right-hand Arrows down causing "jumps" of 1 minute (you should soon get used to jumoing forward for,say,4 minutes - usual length of Adverts on most Channels)
In my experience a Factory Reset keeping Recordings offers only a short-term improvement and also I'm annoyed that people who phone to complain are often issued replacement Boxes instead of being told this has been a long-term problem that is still awaiting complete eradication.

Your comments and suggestions are much appreciated. Shame that BTEE don't acknowledge and address this malfunction. I'll try out your suggestions and see how we go.
