I'll let you into a little secret - in 5 weeks and 1 day, I won't care anymore. After almost 29 years in BT, I've decided to leave ...

Thank you for your good humour, help to so many who got stuck in the BT/EE machine and peeks behind the curtain as we harassed you across 2 forums! 😁

I wish you all the best for your future endeavours and would happily buy you a beer or two should our paths ever cross.

Good luck, you have earned it 🍻

@DarrenDev says:

NDA still applies even after I leave I'm afraid.

For those who may sign up for NowTV separately for UHD (like me) which I will need to renew at some point....can you indicate if we are looking at this year or next? Nothing specific.

@DarrenDev

You, and your excellent help, advice and good humour will be sorely missed, both here and at the EETV Community Board.

Very best wishes in all your future endeavours 😊

Re: EETV App Scheduling Information Presentation

We have received an extraordinary level of help and advice from the outstanding ‘Mr Dev’ on here. He’s intervened at all hours of the day and night, even at weekends, and on several occasions when he’s actually been away on holiday. The customers of wherever he’s going to don’t know how lucky they are (yet). I salute you, sir!

Re: EETV App Scheduling Information Presentation

@DarrenDev

Nothing has changed for many years, and no-one has mentioned it before, so I think the adjective you're looking for is "mildly".

If you look back you may remember that one of the issues raised by us triallists when BT Youview first launched was the Schedule only ever listing the first / next episode in a Series Recording.   As I understand it this is the same thing being discussed here albeit manifesting differently.

Sadly, as with many if the trial issues raised, this was poo-pooed and nothing done about it.

Anyway, all the best for your future endeavours and thanks for all the fish.

Re: EETV App Scheduling Information Presentation

@gomezz

What you describe is still happening on the boxes, though at least the app was improved in this regard.

What we have now, though just in the app, is the first entry for a Series recording appearing as if it were a single recording.

At the top of this thread, I quote the initial, worse, problem, that the first entry was actually appearing twice in the schedule, once as a single, and then again as a series.

I’m betting that of the two entries that YouView apparently require to start a Series, only one is being shown, to avoid customers seeing duplication; but the app is using the wrong one of the two, although the box gets it right.

I think when the YouView Community closed, Keith’s list of ‘142 things that are wrong with YouView’ died with it 😢

@DarrenDev

Can you tell us where you are going, and can we come with you?

I knew I should have had you written into my contract, though that sounds as though it might have been rather unfair to you 😛

... so no offence taken. I totally agree with you about this, and many other decisions that are made. I just have to trust that they were made for good reasons that I will never know.

I follow the postings of a train driver on X. He often takes out trainees with him. He calls them the Trainlett. Maybe there’s a Devlett or two being trained to take over when you leave…. 🙏

At least he was around to see you join EETV fully, after everything else, he will at least have that to take with him.
