Switch the box off and then back on again. A red light should appear on the front panel. Press and hold the down arrow button on top of your box for five seconds until you see 'Enter Maintenance Mode Y/N' at the bottom of the screen. When you see this, press the standby/power button. After it wakes up you'll see the 'Maintenance Mode' menu:

Software Reset (Recommended)
Factory Reset (Keep Recordings)
Factory Reset (Delete Recordings)
Internet/USB Recovery (Keep Recordings)
Internet/USB Recovery (Delete Recordings)

Choose and select Factory reset, keep recordings using the arrow buttons. This option will allow you to keep your recordings, scheduled recordings and any personal settings you've made to favourites and playlists.

If you're still having problems, you can try to reset your box using the following steps, however you will lose any recordings.

Choose the Factory reset, delete recordings option - this type of reset will delete your recordings and any scheduled recordings. You'll also lose any personal settings you've made to favourites and playlists. The reset will take a few minutes. Once done, you'll see the first-time set-up screens. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

The 2100's are a fair old age now.  The last time I had something like that it was the hard drive that had failed.  If so, you will need to speak to customer services.

(If that doesn't give any joy, it used to be possible to get a replacement drive off Amazon and replace it yourself - I'm going back a few years though).
