Does BT now have a genuinely better product than the competition. Virgin and Sky stream offer similar but no way of recording tv and useless playlists with no need to buy a budget panel dressed in an expensive suit.
Sky have Q but there’s no UHD available on multiroom boxes and still relies on a ugly dish. Then there’s Virgin but that’s not available in lots of areas. I think BT have an excellent product now with some useful looking multi room boxes.
Suppose BT just lack in the app department and no discovery channels except for the freeview stuff. Thought discovery would have at least been included in this months exciting new features, especially with their new alliance.
Looking forward to the future and the features it may bring.
The Discovery/BT Sport deal has only recently been approved. They've already said that BT Sport customers who subscribe directly through BT, will get Discovery+ included in their subscription early next year. I'd imagine the app will be made available around that time.
It'll be interesting to see what Discovery/Warner does with the HBO stuff when the Sky deals ends in a couple of years.
With them also owning Eurosport and now a joint partnership with BT Sport, hopefully they'll go for F1 and more Premier League when the rights become available.
Personally, I don’t think either Sky or Virgin have anything to worry about.
Yes, Sky mini boxes don’t have 4K, but the BT TV mini can’t access recording on the main box. The new Sky Puck mini’s do have 4K and each customer can have a maximum of 6, unlike BT which limits the number to just 1.
Both Virgin and Sky also have a far more extensive channel line up than BT TV, even with the new BT TV “internet mode”.
Never mind the fact the BT TV boxes are missing some major apps such as Apple TV and Sisney+
P.S. You can access both Discovery and Paramount+ indirectly through Amazon Prime.

No.
