New box me thinks
Hello I am new here. I have been trying to connect my old youview box. It wouldn’t work so tried a factory reset. I am now stuck on the start set up page, when I go beyond this I get a page telling me to plug into ethernet booster. Would it be easier to request a upto date ee box? I really have no clue.

When you set up a TV box it has to connect to the internet, with older models that has to be a wired connection and not wireless as only the Pro and Mini are wireless. It should be able to be set up with the ethernet connection though, if the TV box and Broadband hub are too far away from each other you can have power line adapters to bridge the gap (we have some for our TV box upstairs)
If it really can't be set up correctly though then provided you currently pay for your TV package then BT likely will replace it if they can't find a work around for you.

You mention it is your old Youview box.
Do you know which Youview box model it is . the link below

gives images of the currently supported boxes (the very first generation T1000 series boxes are no longer supported by BT/Youview).
Do you know when it was last working and what problems did you experience that caused you to attempt the factory reset ?
Having a internet working connection to your Hub/router is required to set up the box.
If you have a current EETV contract with BT then their support lines are available. There are processes for replacing faulty loan boxes and upgrading to newer boxes which may involve recontracting broadband and EETV for a further 24 month period.
