Price increase in April 2025

Am I correct in saying if you renewed your contract in March you did not incur the annual yearly cpi increase in April. I had recently inquired about renewing my Contract which ended in March 2025 I enquired in February with BT that it would be changing all BT customers over to EE. I new EE were doing deals so said I would see what EE would offer. In February 2025 I had a email what they could do for me,Broadband ,Tv+ Entertainment, Landline, and offer EE SIM card unlimited rolling contract, I did not take up contract said I would like to see what Bt would offer as found out I could still renew with BT ,spoke to Bt said they couldn’t match the EE sim offer ,my sim contract was a lot cheaper but not unlimited Data. I said I was going back to EE for what they had offered me the operator then said she could put that order through for me I said shouldn’t I go back to EE as the other lady had worked that out for me she said she could see the order ok and would put through I did explain I did not want it to start till my 14th March when contract ended and I also said leave landline off as this would make it cheaper as only a £3 charge, so I thought that was done, I then had a text saying I would be losing my Home landline Number which I hadn’t told my wife I had cancelled the landline, The Text said if I want to keep my number EE would have to cancel the order, I rang the number it gave me to ring and spoke to a person who explained I said I wanted to keep number so do what you have to do and give me the vol number for your cancellation of the order. I then got back to the EE lady who sent me the email offer and told her the BT lady had put the order through, I asked the EE lady I explained about the landline cancel I asked what happens now I was told sorry I can’t help you your have to go to another department I couldn’t understand what she was telling who do I ring now. I spoke to BT must have been customer services a Lady started dealing with this and this and the problem I had, this is when all my Big problems started I was told to reorder my contract which I did and that order wouldn’t go through problem on line this was a ongoing the lady had given me her email address as I didn’t want to keep talking to different people we had agreed a price what was agreed 3/3/25 the lady had gone ill and have had no contact with, all I had was a letter to take up with the ombudsman who has only came out in their favour what compensation they are paying and the price of what they have stated which is not what was agreed 3/3/25 got till 12/3/25 to give decision, have not ever spoken to EE person what and why happened,

question do EE prices go up in April 2025 if ordered in March 2025   EE says t/c that they do just wanted to know when this changed if anyone can help

Re: Price increase in April 2025

The simple answer is: It's complicated!

Backtrack No1: So, BT didn't fully implement the cpi+ based increases on all accounts, because they were simply uncompetitive, but they did implement lesser increases - in many cases!
Backtrack No2: Around the time you were going through all this, BT decided not to migrate all it's domestic users to EE.  This also caused havoc with renewal offers that had  been made to a great number of people around this time, and I believe it would be fair to say that sales staff were, at best, poorly briefed.

*I eventually agreed a renewal mid April, taking effect 1st May, but it was an experience and a half.  The person I reported retentions to, did a fine job, but I'd not willingly go through that process again!

As it stands BT & EE contracts now have price rises built in to the contract, so if you can find your order summary in your email - they should state what you will pay, and when those increases take effect.  While I'm sure I've previously found the FULL summary in the your orders section previously, whats in there now seems somewhat cut-down!

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
