Hi, Series Link on my DTR-T2100 has become extremely random in the past 3 months. I'm offered the option to series link, I accept but series link is not setup. I'm aware from other posts that series link information is set by the broadcaster so I tried a couple of things:
1, series link for Strictly this Sunday 30th Oct 22 fails (the episode is set to record however). I immediately set the programme after if, Top Gear, to series link and it works.
2, I've asked a friend to try setting series link for the aforementioned Strictly series and it works for them. Different box, another Humax but not BT or the DTR-T2100.
So, is this a BBC issue? It would appear not.
What can I do to try to rectify this, preferably without a full reset as I have saved recordings. Although I will reset if I have to.

You mention

This suggests to me that the broadcaster data supplier has indeed supplied the necessary data in the EPG . Otherwise the box would not offer you the choice to Record Series.
There are maintenance mode resets (2 or 4) that will normally preserve recordings. As they are not complete resets but preserve varioius recording and schedule data they may not resolve your issue.
Perhaps wait a couple of days to see if any other users of that box can shed any light on similar issues with that box.
I had this problem with trying to set series links with programs on Sky Atlantic in the past, when a new series, or a new season of a series, was being promoted as starting at 21.00 hrs. Because these programs were of USA origin they were first going out at 02.00 of that day, to sync with the showing in the states. The box was setting the series link to the 02.00 showings, not the 21.00 time slot. Now…I can hear you all shouting in the background…what’s this got to do with Strictly…well all this week BBC2 has been showing Strictly It Takes Two at 18.30 each day, and I’m guessing it is setting your series link to that. It can also happen if a previous season of a program is being shown in the lead up to the new one starting. I have also just noticed that there is a previous (I assume, I’ve never watched it) edition of Strictly Come Dancing being shown as I’m typing this [01.30 Saturday) so if it didn’t set the series link from one of the Takes Two programs it may have been setting it to the edition being shown now.
