Hi
Fed up with Virgin Media broadband and thinking of swapping to BT Full Fibre broadband plus TV.
A couple of questions as wasn't clear from the website but with BT TV (or EE TV!) what 'box' do you get as standard and can you record TV programmes with it? Currently used to having a TiVo box with VM and recording programmes but not sure if you can do that with EE TV. Or do you have to pay extra for a EE TV Box Pro? Also does this record programmes to the device or to the cloud (as I think the Sky Stream box does)?
Currently paying £91 pm at VM for 125 broadband, TiVO box, landline, Sky Sports & TNT sports - so trying to figure out whether BT is competitive to this. Although my main reason for leaving VM would be due to broadband outages in our area.
If you join under a BT deal you will get a Pro by default and you can record with this. You do not need an aerial if you don't have one the box can run off IP mode and freeview will come over the internet.
If you join with EE then I would specify you want the Pro as another option would be the Apple TV box which is better for streaming but cannot record.
The Pro records to the box and there is no cloud facility so recordings are locked to that box
Start with Big Sport, £43/mo, HD&4K, £6/mo, Box Pro included, landline £5/mo pay for calls as you go, can add inclusive minutes £10 limited, £18 unlimited, Broadband 150 Mbps £34.
Say £84/94, depending on the minutes you choose.
So competitive, and you will be able to wrangle it down from that starting figure if you talk to BT.
Broadband is based on you being able to have Full Fibre though, so check this first:-
