I'm watching back the British Superbikes coverage from TNT Sport this morning, having watched some of it on Sunday while it was recording live (something I quite often do). I'm noticing something I've spotted before but not raised previously - the rewind, fast-forward and time-skip buttons on my BT remote behave unreliably. It's quite common for Rewind to actually fast-forward the broadcast, which is very noticeable when the lap counter at the top of the screen increases when it should be decreasing. Sometimes it randomly works correctly, but it often doesn't
My theory is that the software uses your position in the recording as it currently stands to determine where you are in the program, so if that position changes before you next rewind or fast-forward the recording, it gets confused and thinks you've moved forwards rather than backwards. Could it be linked to the well known "skipping forward in a live program up to the live moment causes the picture to freeze until you do a 15-second skip backwards" glitch?
Or is it a ploy to attempt to stop people fast-forwarding the adverts?
Hi @MartinJSUK
Which TV equipment are you using? Does it just happen with TNT Sports content or other recordings too?
