YVM102 and YVM302 error messages

I'm getting an interesting mixture of error messages on my EE box (model RTIW387). It's a new box to replace an older BT box which started to get error message YVM102. BT sent out the EE box as a solution to that problem but it appears to have been a temporary fix.

I set up the EE box and connected it to the BT hub wirelessly. All was working well for about 3 days but now all TV channels except BBC1 began to show Signal Strength 95%+ but Signal Quality 0-10% only, so are completely pixelated and unwatchable. All apps (Netflix etc.) are streaming without problems though.

I tried all the recommended steps (reset the router, reset the box, check the cables etc.) and then connected the box instead using the Ethernet cable (this was the old connection method for the BT TV box). That's when YVM102 error message began to appear again and no apps were accessible.

I've gone back to connecting the EE box via WiFi since at least I can watch TV via the apps that way.

Anybody have any ideas?

Re: YVM102 and YVM302 error messages

Update, I managed to reset my BT extender 500 flex kit to resolve YVM102, but am persistently still getting YVM302 error message.

Hi @shew_z,

Welcome to the BT Community

YVM302 would usually indicate an issue with the signal from your aerial. Are you able to connect the aerial directly to your TV to take the TV box out of the equation and see if you are still getting issues?

You can put your TV box into internet mode also to get your channels that way in the meantime as you mention the internet apps are working ok Aerial and Internet Modes on EE TV | TV and Sport Help | EE

Re: YVM102 and YVM302 error messages

Hi Alex, thanks for the reply. I tested the aerial last night directly into the TV and there were no problems, so I think it is the box. BT are sending out an engineer to check it out for me, as it's only some channels that are affected. I've seen others ordering a variable attenuator and adjusting the signal that way, so that might end up being the solution. We shall find out! : )

@shew_z Ah ok seems like the box then, thanks for the update, hopefully the engineer can help find out what is going on and get it sorted.
